Alex Fender

Founder of Funnel Science and Vice President of Sales                                                         Marine Veteran

Alex Fender currently serves as the VP of sales at Funnel Science. A North Texas native, Alex served eight years in the United States Marine Corps and graduated Cum Laude from Columbia College with a BS in Management. He attended Northwestern University to study for a Master’s in Predictive Analytics.

Alex has started three businesses, sold two, and has consulted with more than 1,000 businesses globally. In 2013, he was honored to be awarded the Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year by MTI during a reception at the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Texas.

In 2012, Google personally invited him to enter the Google Engage All-Stars Competition. He and his team outperformed their competition and were awarded the grand prize. The following year, Funnel Science again won the Google Engage All-Stars Competition, and as part of the award, his team was flown to Google Headquarters to meet with Google executives at the All-Stars Summit. With Alex as their lead, his team won the All-Stars Competition in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

In 2017, Alex entered the Veteran Business Battle, a business plan competition for Veteran owned companies, held at Rice University. Funnel Science won first place and a $250,000 investment from EO Houston, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. Alex was invited back to the Veterans Business Battle to be a judge at the annual business plan competition in 2020 and 2022.

In 2018, Alex was appointed to the U.S. Small Business Administration Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs. As a committee member, he served as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the SBA Administrator, US Congress, and the President of the United States of America.
